Southport Lifeboat rescues boat and crew off Ainsdale beach

The Arctic 24 lifeboat, the Heather White, was requested to launch by HM Coastguard Holyhead to a 16ft fishing vessel with dual engine failure approximately 1.5nm west of Ainsdale.

The lifeboat launched at Southport and proceeded to Ainsdale, where the crew liaised with the casualty vessel and established a tow. The vessel was towed back to her launch site at Ainsdale where her crew were then able to recover the vessel.
