Southport Police Thwart Late-night Lidl Store Burglary

Two men were arrested by Response and Resolution (R&R) officers from Southport Police station at 02:20am this morning (Monday 26th Aug), after a burglary in progress to the Lidl store on Virginia Street was reported at 01:48am, where offenders were stealing alcohol.

One man was arrested at the scene , while a second was detained and arrested on Eastbank Street, having being found in possession of a bag of spirits with the security tags still on.
An update will follow as and when the offenders are charged.
