Southport's Goal Drought Continues, 451 Minutes Without a League Goal
Southport returned from Kidderminster with a 2-0 defeat and a result that was a fair reflection of the game with the visitors once again unable to trouble the scorers.
451 minutes without a league goal tells its own story and once again the home side enjoyed a relatively trouble free afternoon in their own penalty area.
Ironically Southport did start brightly and were playing some neat football but once Kidderminster took the lead through an excellent 25 yard dipping shot in the 10th minute by the excellent Ashley Hemmings the home side were able to control the game.
The inevitable second goal came after 59 minutes and it was game over for the travelling Sandgrounders whose 88 fans in an attendance of 2503 made for the best attendance we have played in front of this season.
As Jim says in the post match below, Kidderminster were the best side we have faced so far this season and will be up there challenging at season end whilst for Southport we have work to do.
After match thoughts from Jim with apologies for the poor sound quality.
