Southport Set for Showdown with Southend in FA Trophy Semi-Final

A sell out crowd will see Southport take on National League side Southend in only our second FA Trophy Semi-Final on Saturday March 28th.

It will be four weeks since the dramatic penalty shoot out win against Yeovil Town saw the club reach this stage.

We did meet Southend in the FA Trophy last season at Roots Hall going down 1-0 in the fourth round and have met previously when both sides were in the Football League, the most memorable occasion being back in 1966-67 when Southport clinched promotion to Football League Division Three (League 1) by virtue of a 1-0 win against Southend.
