Southport host Spennymoor Town in Saturday ‘six pointer’ at Haig Avenue
Southport return to National League North action on Saturday, September 26, when bottom-of-the-table Spennymoor Town visit Haig Avenue for a 3pm kick-off.
The fixture has been billed as a big “six pointer”, with both clubs looking to improve difficult starts to the season. Spennymoor sit 24th after nine league matches, with one win, three draws and five defeats. Their victory came at home to Merthyr Town in their second league game.
Tickets remain available online until kick-off. The club is encouraging supporters to buy in advance, with no Premier League fixtures scheduled for Saturday and a strong attendance expected.

Southport’s most recent match was a 4-1 win at Garstang in the Lancashire Challenge Trophy on Wednesday night. Saturday’s game is their first league fixture since the 2-0 FA Cup defeat at Morecambe on September 19.
