Teenage Boys Apprehended on Crossens Recreation Ground with Illegal Substances
Following a rise in reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) and criminal damage around the Crossens area of Southport, we have increased patrols in the area.
Yesterday afternoon (Thursday 7th Nov), four teenaged boys attempted to make off from police officers on Crossens Recreation Ground. Two were found in possession of cannabis and in addition, one of the two was found to be in possession of what is believed to be cocaine. The boys details were verified and each was returned to their family, to be interviewed about the offences in the near future. This process keeps custody free for offenders who require more immediate action.
The boys cannot be named for legal reasons however, we will supply an update as the investigations progress.
We will continue to patrol the area with uniformed and non-uniformed staff, around the clock, and take positive action at every opportunity to reduce the number of reports and support local residents in making the area safe to live and work in.
Please ensure that any incidents are reported on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
