Three illegal fishermen reported after license checks in the Southport area
Merseyside Police Rural & Wildlife Crime Team Wildlife Officers and other Southport Neighbourhood Police Officers took part in Operation Leviathon: A Joint patrol with Lancashire Police, Environment Agency Fisheries Officers and Angling Trust VBS members, visiting numerous fisheries and waters on the Merseyside/Lancashire borders. 25 Rod license checks were conducted. 3 offences disclosed and reported. Assistance & support was offered to all fisheries.
We will continue to work with other police forces and agencies to combat rural crime, which often sees criminals crossing borders.
