Three Teenagers Arrested for Robbery in Formby
Police can confirm that three teenagers have been arrested following a robbery in Formby.
At around 4.40pm on Saturday 18 April, we received a report that a 15-year-old boy had been threatened by a group of other males on Duke Street and they took his sunglasses, mobile phone, cash, watch and bank card.
Thanks to Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and officers from our Neighbourhood Team who were in the area, the suspects were identified nearby and quickly arrested.
Three boys, who are aged 15, 14 and 15, all from Formby, were arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have been conditionally bailed pending further inquiries.
Local Policing Inspector Graham Fisher said: “I hope these arrests show that we will not stand by when we receive reports that people have been threatened in our community.
“Our officers responded swiftly to this report and detained three suspects very soon after the incident.
“We understand the concern that such offences can cause to victims and their families. I want to assure local residents that we take these reports very seriously.
“Although we have made three arrests, we are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.”
