Rail disruption affects North West services, including Liverpool Lime Street routes
Rail passengers across the North West face cancellations and delays affecting Avanti West Coast, East Midlands Railway, Northern, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales, including services to and from Liverpool Lime Street.
National Rail advises passengers to check their journey before travelling because arrangements may change.
Advice for passengers
- Avanti West Coast: If your train is cancelled, your ticket can be used on one of the two Avanti services immediately before or after the booked train. You can also request a full refund if you no longer wish to travel.
- East Midlands Railway: Liverpool Lime Street–Nottingham–Norwich trains are unable to run between Sheffield and Liverpool Lime Street until further notice. Other routes are operating, but delays of up to 60 minutes are possible.
- Northern: Customers are advised not to travel because services are unable to run on multiple routes in the North West. Northern tickets will be accepted on Bee Network services.
- TransPennine Express: Tickets will be accepted on Bee Network services and, in some cases, CrossCountry, LNER, Metrolink and Northern services. Passengers should check before setting off.
- Transport for Wales: Replacement buses will operate between Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Piccadilly.
Passengers using replacement buses should allow extra time and check the latest information with their operator or National Rail before leaving home.
