Two More Men Arrested in Connection with Southport Incident

Detectives have arrested two more men in connection with an incident in Southport on Friday night, 19 July.
We were contacted at 8.25pm after a 20-year-old man reportedly fell from the rear of a moving white Peugeot Boxer van during a suspected motorbike theft on The Promenade/Leyland Road.
The man suffered head and chest injuries and has been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Today, Wednesday 24 July, we arrested a 28-year-old man from Toxteth and a 38-year-old man from Wavertree on suspicion of conspiracy to commit theft.They are both currently in custody.
We have also seized a car which has been recovered for forensic examination.

Leroy Agatha, 22, of Upper Frederick Street, Liverpool, has been charged with conspiracy to steal and fraud by false representation and appeared at Wirral Adult Remand Court yesterday, Monday 22 July. A 22-year-old man from Wavertree and a 19-year-old man from Liverpool City Centre have been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries. A 32-year-old man from Halewood arrested on Tuesday (23 July) on suspicion of attempted murder and assisting an offender has also been bailed.
