Annual Duck Race
It’s the main event of the weekend - the Duck Race returns Monday 6 May with three chances to win this year’s number one title!

Enter your rubber ducks for free at one of our 12, 2 or 4pm races. If you haven’t managed to design your duck yet, our craft room will be open 1-4pm on the weekend and from 10am on the day of the race. Colour yours for £3.50 ready for entry into one of the races. There’s a £25 voucher for the gift shop up for grabs for the winners!

  Bing’s Nature Explorers
Follow Bing’s Nature Explorers trail to discover fun-filled challenges and amazing wildlife facts. Be sure to pick up your free trail card at the start and collect your sticker once you’ve completed it.

 Pond dipping
Our Pond Zone will be open 1:30pm-3pm. Join us for this free activity - grab your net and tray and see what lives in our ponds. You can find all sorts of wonderful life, from a newt to a pond snail.

Moth trapping
Each day at 10:30am, join us outside of the Discovery Hide as we open up our moth trap that we left overnight and see what fascinating species of moths are inside. It's a great opportunity to get some close-up pictures and learn all the weird and wonderful facts about moths.

 Canoe Safari
From 11am-3pm, head towards our Canoe Safari and explore our waters with a self-guided canoe ride, or relaxing guided boat tour.

The habitat around the canoe safari is teeming with life, so keep your eyes open and see what you can spot as you paddle your way around the twists and turns of the waterways. Dragonflies, kingfishers, water voles? What treasures will you discover?

 Hand feeding
Want to get even closer to our wetland species from around the world? Pick up a bag of bird feed for £1.50 and feed our friendly birds around our living collection. Psst - our Ross’s geese in particular love being hand-fed!

  Craft room
We’ll have a range of spring-themed crafts available in our craft room from 1-4pm. Or, come and do our classic crafts like badge making, brass rubbing, and colouring!

  Extra adventures
The adventures never end at Martin Mere! Put on your wellies and have fun exploring in nature with a maze of wetland tracks, muddy meadows, wobbly brides, and reedy rambles.

Or head towards our HUGE adventure playground with zip-wire screams and scramble net laughs.
