Vandalism Wave Hits Southport as Car Tyres Slashed

Police are investigating multiple reports of criminal damage where car tyres were slashed in the early hours of Saturday 21st December in the Birkdale area of Southport.

We are aware of reports of this type of damage from DINORWIC ROAD, BEDFORD ROAD and STAMFORD ROAD at this time. From local social media pages we believe there may have been up to 30 vehicles targeted in these attacks but at this time we have only four reports made to the police about them.

If you have been victim of this series of criminal damage attacks in the early hours of Saturday morning, please make a report via the 101 non-emergency number. Or if you believe you may have seen the offender(s) in the area at this time then also please call us on 101 and make a report.

Again, from social media we believe another incident may have taken place on BIRCH STREET, but we have no crime report from that location. Please make sure you report any incidents that you believe are related to this spate of attacks, so that we can investigate the route taken by the offenders. Officers will be in the streets affected to look for CCTV or doorbell camera evidence to follow, just as soon as resources are available.
