Thunderstorm cuts short Red Arrows display at Southport Air Show
A thunderstorm cut short the Red Arrows’ display at Southport Air Show on Sunday, 30 August 2026.
The display was put on hold as heavy rain and the storm moved across the seafront. Organisers later decided it was not safe for the Red Arrows to continue, and many visitors left as the rain intensified.
The weather then passed, allowing the RAF Typhoon to take to the sky and bring the 2026 show to a close. The published Sunday programme listed the Red Arrows for 3.30pm, followed by the Typhoon at 4pm.
The two-day event took place on Southport seafront on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August, with the Red Arrows scheduled to appear on both days.
