Will the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight perform at Southport Air Show?
After the tragic loss of of a Spitfire pilot from the BBMF who lost his life recently the Wartime aircraft due to fly at this weekend’s Duxford Summer Air Show have been grounded after a fatal crash.
Sqn Ldr Mark Long was killed when the Spitfire he was flying crashed in a field in Lincolnshire on Saturday.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) are due to perform at the Southport Air Show event on both Saturday and Sunday the 13th and 14th of July.
The flying display is one of the most popular events at the Air Show in Southport.
No information has been released by the BBMF or Southport Air Show if the display will take place.
Sefton council have been approached for comment.
