Woodlands Animal Sanctuary Appeals for Special Home for Betsy and Penny
Woodlands Animal Sanctuary took Betsy & Penny a mum and daughter pair all the way back in August last year, meaning they have been a part of shelter life 277 days now. The very sad reason for this bonded duo’s admittance was because their loving owner very sadly died. Through absolutely no fault of their own their world was turned upside down & this timid pair were thrust back into the big wide world, finding solace and strength with each other and the dedicated care of the team at Woodlands.
However, shelter life is no substitute for a loving home to call their own, and as such the team are now desperately appealing for a certain type of home for these two beauties. As a strongly bonded pair, they were able to give each other comfort through this deeply upsetting time, & they are now ready to give their hearts to another family.
Both friendly, but timid, the team at Woodlands are looking for a home that can offer unconditional acceptance, love and a consistent safe space, where they will be able to flourish. Penny is quite happy with head scratches, from one of her trusted Cat Cuddlers, while her mum, Betsy, is a little less sure. However, Betsy craves contact and connection & just needs someone understanding who can give her the time she needs to build her confidence & not take offence if she loses her nerve at times. Woodlands’ patient and understanding Cat Cuddlers, have given her this & she has responded by wanting to return and continue the connection. It’s this sort of relationship Woodlands are looking for in this loving pairs prospective home.
Not to be outdone, Penny has struggled in the past with an upset tummy. The Animal Care team have worked closely with the charity’s vet to find a diet that agrees with her. They are positive they have found this, because she has been fine for quite some time now. However, due to this, Penny will need to be kept on the food she is currently having. Added to this, the charity are offering support with Penny, should any digestive upset reoccur; she can be brought back to see the charity’s vet, with Woodlands covering any costs that maybe incurred with this condition. All other costs will need to be covered as usual by the rehomers.
And that's where you come in. Are you the special person/family this mum and daughter need to fully embrace the next chapter of their lives?
If not, Woodlands are asking that you speak to your friends and colleagues to share Betsy & Penny’s story to show this unassuming pair that life can still come up trumps even when your special person leaves you with no warning.
