Woodlands Animal Sanctuary Supporters to Run Ultra Marathon for Charity
Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are very pleased to be able to share with you an exciting event that is coming up this month. Nope, not their Family Fun Day, which is on Saturday 19th August, but two of their supporters are running an Ultra Marathon to raise vital funds for the work they do. Not sure what an Ultra Marathon is? Well, as if a marathon isn’t enough, an Ultra Marathon is 5 marathons back to back! That’s right, 130 miles in one go! It doesn’t bear even thinking about really does it? Starting in Liverpool, Pete and Lee are looking to run along the tow path of the Leeds to Liverpool canal, all the way to Office Lock Leeds!
Pete and Lee are looking for a challenge, something that lets them push their bodies to new limits. This sounds like it could well do that. The team from Woodlands would like to thank Pete and Lee for even just thinking about doing this event and raising money for them and Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue, who all the money raised will be split between.
This Ultra Marathon starts at 6am on Saturday 26th August and competitors have until 10pm on Sunday 27th to finish. If you would like to show your support for Pete and Lee, and raise essential funds for two local charities, you can sponsor them here> https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/campaign/ultra-marathon-from-liverpool-to-leeds
The boys will be keeping the team at Woodlands up to date with their training, so if you would like to track their progress, follow along on the sanctuary socials to hear all their latest news. You can find them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
