Woodlands want to say, ‘Thank you!’

Saturday August 19th saw Woodlands Animal Sanctuary host their annual Family Fun Day, at their site in Holmeswood.  This is their biggest on-site fundraising event of the year and makes a significant contribution to their funding at the start of autumn.

Featuring their infamous fun dog show and this year the draw for their summer raffle – it was a super day for everyone, with plenty of new faces all seeming to enjoy themselves, whilst raising vital funds for the animal rescue.

The grand total raised is a whopping £7,000 with £2,832 raised from the raffle alone.  Scoop Magic wowed the crowds with his close-up magic, the birds of prey did a couple of lovely demonstrations, showcasing just what wonderful birds they are.  Visitors were entertained with joyful dog agility demonstrations from Sabre Dog Training and the many stalls saw a great trade for the day.   

This money will go straight towards looking after the animals in their care.  Alongside their resident animals of 4 ponies and one donkey, 6 goats, numerous ducks and hens, they are also currently caring for over 50 cats, which includes 6 litters of kittens – all of whom will be looking for their forever loving home when the time is right for them.
