Christmas Day call out for Southport Lifeboat Rescue

Our crew's Christmas dinners were interrupted this afternoon when Southport Quads were tasked to assist a disoriented diabetic in the sand dunes between Ainsdale and Birkdale.

Using What3Words, our quads quickly located and treated the casualty before extracting him from the dunes and escorting him back to his car at Shore Road.

Our UAS team provided additional aerial support, and one Coxswain served as our on-scene commander, coordinating with Merseyside Police, HM Coastguard Southport, and HM Coastguard Crosby, all of whom were involved in the search.

Our crew was stood down shortly after 3 pm, allowing them to wash down and return to their families.
