Man Receives Community Protection Notice Amid Anti-Social Behaviour Reports in Southport

latest news

A man has been issued with a Community Protection Notice after several reports of anti-social behaviour in Southport.

On Saturday 2 May we received several reports that a man had left human waste on shop doorsteps on Lord Street and was sleeping across their entrances.

A Community Protection Notice was issued to the man which is a legal notice used to address behaviour that is having a detrimental effect on the quality of life of those in the community.

Failure to comply with the conditions of a CPN can result in further enforcement action, including prosecution or fixed penalty notices.

Chair of the Merseyside Antisocial Behaviour Partnership, Karl Baldwin Said: “We are keenly aware of the huge impact that such anti-social behaviour can cause towards staff, business owners and their customers.

“Through the work of the Merseyside Anti-Social Behaviour Partnership, Neighbourhood Policing Teams and the Preventative Orders Team the public can expect to see an increase in Closure Orders, Dispersal Orders, Public Space Protection Orders, Community Protection Warnings and Criminal Behaviour Orders – all of which need multi-agency working to be achieved, and are powerful tools in dealing with antisocial behaviour.

"We remain committed to supporting local communities, and retailers, by taking firm action against offenders and preventing these crimes”
