Police response to dog attack on sheep in the dunes

shaun

Local residents that follow this page may have already read that one of the conservation sheep at Ainsdale Local Nature Reserve has had to be euthanised following a dog attack. Two other sheep are being treated for their injuries, while another remains unaccounted for.

There are signs at every entrance to the conservation animal enclosures highlighting that animals are loose and grazing, and asking for dogs to be put on a lead.

We're sure dog walkers don't want these animals to suffer in this way. So please, don't take the risk. Put your dog on a lead!

Please report any such incidents where dogs are worrying livestock in the area on 101
