Nominations Open for Citizens 4 Good Spring Celebration

Celebrating How Every Contribution Matters Across Sefton

Sefton residents are being invited to celebrate the everyday people who make a real difference in their communities, as nominations open for Citizens 4 Good 2026. The Spring celebration will take place on Sunday 30th March, from 5:30pm–7:00pm at Bootle Town Hall.

Citizens 4 Good is a much-loved initiative delivered in partnership by Sefton 4 Good, Sefton CVS, and the Mayor of Sefton’s Office. The event recognises individuals whose kindness, commitment, and small acts of support help make Sefton a stronger, more connected place to live.

This year’s celebration aligns with the Every Contribution Matters campaign, which highlights how even the smallest actions — giving time, supporting a neighbour, volunteering behind the scenes — can have a powerful and lasting impact on local communities.

Catrin Hughes, lead organiser, said:

“Citizens 4 Good is about recognising the everyday people who quietly make a difference. Through the Every Contribution Matters campaign, we want to show that you don’t need to do something big or visible to have an impact — every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, deserves to be celebrated.”

During the March event, nominees will be personally thanked by the Mayor of Sefton and presented with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their dedication, generosity, and community spirit.

Who Can Be Nominated?

The organisers are encouraging nominations for individuals who have:

  • Made a positive difference in their community or for a local cause

  • Supported others through kindness, care, or encouragement

  • Raised awareness or funds for important issues

  • Given their time through volunteering, including running or supporting local groups such as Scouts, youth clubs, or Girlguide etc

Past Citizens 4 Good honourees have included community volunteers, fundraisers, young people making change, and residents whose behind-the-scenes contributions have had a big local impact.

Catrin Hughes added:

“These celebrations remind us just how much good happens every day across Sefton. Citizens 4 Good gives us the chance to pause, say thank you, and shine a light on people whose contributions truly matter.”
