Sub station fire at Lord Street West causing power cuts in PR8

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to the electric sub station at the side of Lord Street West  church early this afternoon. The small fire was soon extinguished but has caused power cuts in the local area.

Fire crews have cordoned off the area awaiting the power company to fix the problem.

There is a power cut affecting the PR8 postcode area of Southport. Our engineers are enroute to find and fix the fault as quickly and as safely as possible.
